Personal Project

The final piece was presented as an AR experience, allowing the object to exist between physical and digital space. Documenting it within my school environment reinforced the idea of adaptation and placement within a new context.

Moon Jar Reinterpretation – Personal Project

A 3D and AR project exploring materiality, aging, and cultural adaptation through a contemporary reinterpretation of the Korean moon jar.

Meet the Moon Jar

Inspired by the moon jar and kkokdu figurines, this project explores contrast between purity and age, permanence and change. Rather than I recreating the original texture, I experimented with textures that emphasize depth, time, and transformation which qualities that are uniquely achievable through 3D world.

The moon jar’s traditional white color was reinterpreted using layered textures to enhance depth and material presence in 3d art. Also, the kkokdu figure was intentionally aged to create a sense of history and contrast within the pristine form.
